"My wife Tracy and I were both raised by quasi-hippie parents; our instinct is to do things in a pretty green and natural way. Soon after having kids ourselves, we went through everything in our house to see if we could do better. My wife was a champion breast-feeder, but occasionally we’d augment with a bottle. Then we found out that if you leave a bottle of water in the car and the temperature of the car heats up, chemicals from the plastic leach into the liquid. It makes perfect rational sense but why we didn’t think of it before I couldn’t tell you. Soon we were researching bottles that don’t do that, and that’s what we now use. Throughout this, Tracy has become something of a budding toxicologist, and has dragged me to baby expos and health fairs. But her passion has become mine."
