Healthy Child's Mom on a Mission Award was introduced for the first time in 2009. Every year going forward, we will honor one special and inspiring American woman who is dedicated to creating healthier environments for children and families.
This year, Healthy Child received 128 submissions from across the country in response to our search. We received many compelling stories about dynamic women working to make their communities healthier and safer for their children. But when we received the submission from John Rodriguez about his wife, Shelby, we knew we'd found our winner. Read her story.
