Today marks the tenth anniversary of a day that changed the face of America – and much of the world. Like most of you, I remember that day exactly. The overwhelming shock of the news. The endless stream of tears down my cheeks. The way I held my baby closer. How the world around me that was usually buzzing with activity, slowed down into a somber silence.
In honor of all the lives lost and all of the people mentally and physically impacted by this tragedy, we ask you to sit down with loved ones today for a memorial meal. Whether you choose breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner – make a special meal, set a special table, light a candle in remembrance, eat slowly, talk, linger, love and appreciate one another.
“Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “ - President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001
