Ever consider a second-hand baby shower? It’s win, win, win.
That “new smell” of most products is actually the off-gassing of synthetic chemicals. You can reduce your baby’s exposure to those chemicals – AND protect the planet AND save your guests money by opting for second-hand and having a healthy, green baby shower. Christine Koh of Boston Mamas (and a Healthy Child Parent Ambassador), blogs about her experience and gratitude for her second-hand baby shower “because [she’s] an eco-geek and because [she has] many friends who are done having babies and were eager to pass things along.”
Are you a guinea pig? Yep.
'Reckless' chemical laws turn people into guinea pigs. The vast majority of industrial chemicals in use today have not undergone health and safety testing. As a result, we are all treated like random guinea pigs.
Afraid of germs? Maybe you shouldn’t be.
Kids who live on farms less likely to get asthma, study says. Asthma and atopy, or allergic reactions, occur at a significantly lower rate in kids who grow up on farms, a new study published this week in The New England Journal of Medicine has found.
What do you REALLY need for a new baby? Not as much as you think.
We recently had a twitter party discussing this topic and it was totally enlightening. The general opinion was that you don’t need as much as you think you do, but each family relied on a distinct set of products. Check out the re-cap from panelists and Healthy Child Parent Ambassadors, Heather and Whitney from RookieMoms.
