After a massive roof tarring project in her community made her family sick, Shelby organized her community to demand safer practices and put an end to the pollution.
Penelope lost her child due to a very rare condition linked to estrogenic chemicals, but still persevered and created one of the most important documentaries about toxics to date.
Linda challenged an oil and gas processing facility in order to protect the health of her children.
Debbie’s son developed severe asthma and life-threatening allergies and she vowed to do what she could to prevent these conditions from happening in other children.
These are stories from the Healthy Child Healthy World Mom on a Mission program which highlights, celebrates and awards inspiring moms working to create a healthier world. And, whether you’re fighting a local polluter or fighting to get your kids to eat more veggies, we want to hear from you.

Help kick off the search for Healthy Child Healthy World's 2012 "Mom on a Mission" by shooting a quick video (from your computer, phone or flipcam), sharing it on YouTube, and sending the link to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) by September 16th. Videos should finish the sentence "I’m a mom on a mission because..." and be only one sentence in length. (There is no need to introduce yourself by name in the video.) Need inspiration? Hi- I am a mom on a mission- to warn others of the dangers of vaccines- linked to autism. My son developed encephalitis after multiple vaccinations- the 12 months shots- combined with the 15- 18 months shots. Now he has Autism. There is a link- despite what doctors say- and despite what the CDC says. I am on a mission to tell others of the dangers- there is no study of combined vaccines…..and I am on a mission to recover my son.
