This video clip from ABC News (8/5/07) is about the chemical bisphenol-A (BPA). As you may have heard, BPA is used in many consumer products, including plastic baby bottles, sports water bottles, dental sealants, food can linings, soft drink and beer cans, among others. It¹s a reproductive and developmental toxin and is ubiquitous in our environment. It¹s also in the bodies of 95% of all Americans at levels that can cause breast cancer, prostate cancer, learning disabilities, and other adverse effects.

Can you please tell me how long BPA has been used in the production of plastic bottles and canned foods? Is this a new component? If so, what did BPA replace?
