In a country that labels everything from cosmetics to cleaning agents, it’s surprising that there are no laws in the U.S. requiring labeling of genetically engineered foods. Yet 93% of Americans believe GE foods should be labeled.
We don’t think that’s right.
Many other countries including Japan, Australia, the European Union and even China require labeling of genetically engineered foods.
Tell the FDA you have a right to know what’s in your food.
Genetically engineered (GE) foods, also referred to as genetically modified, or GMOs, are according to biotech company Monsanto, “Plants or animals that have had their genetic makeup altered to exhibit traits that are not naturally theirs,” or could occur naturally.
We’ve joined an effort with hundreds of organizations representing millions of Americans called “Just Label It: We Have A Right to Know.” We’re petitioning the FDA to demand that products that use ingredients produced with genetic engineering be required to disclose this information on the label.
If you agree that you have a right to know if the food you are eating has been genetically engineered, send a message to the FDA. Let’s make sure the FDA hears loud and clear that Americans want GE foods labeled.
It is your right to know about your food.

Consumers have the right to know what is in their food. Please ensure that genetically engineered foods are labelled so that we can make the decision whether we want to purchase and eat it.

Why does our government continue to poison us? Since they are not protecting us, we need to protect ourselves by becoming educated on these matters and STOP BUYING these poisons!!! YES…all GMOs must be labelled!

We need to bring farming back to how it all began….planting seeds in the ground! Seeds that do not come out of a laboratory. What is a flooring company doing in the food industry? That’s like having a tree surgeon do brain surgery!!!! Monsanto is making it so that farmers cannot use their own seed to replant their crops, as the seeds are genetically altered not to reproduce, thereby making the farmer beholding to purchase all there seeds that have been modified from Monsanto. There are health issues associated with GMO foods. Let’s get back to mother natures way of growing food and not grow food based on corporate profits!!

Hello from Downunder. We actually have woeful labelling laws here in Australia. There are more holes than a packet of of Fruit Loops… Products only have to be labelled if there are actual “novel proteins” present. That means canola oil, which is highly refined, wouldn’t have to be labelled even if it were entirely made of GM canola. There are other exemptions too - fast food outlets don’t have to disclose GM ingredients and products with less than 1 percent of “unintentional” GM matter” don’t require labelling. I think the US laws are currently pretty similar - in other words, not enough! Good luck bringing about change.

Yes, we should absolutely be able to choose or NOT CHOOSE food that is genetically modified! The items should be labeled clearly so that we can me educated consumers who are not tricked into eating foods that we would not consciously put into our bodies.
