• Why not get him a backpack or messenger bag that does more than just carry his things? Genius designs from Reware (price range $249-$275) and Voltaic (price range $199-$249) include thin solar panels, which allow the wearer to charge up iPods, cell phones and other devices with solar power.
• All the talk at the water cooler will be his fab sustainable lunch ware. Pack up last night’s curry in Viva Terra’s Enamel Stacked Lunch Tins, and pair it with a set of compact, perfectly portable bamboo flatware from Taraluna. And he’ll refuel throughout the work day sans countless throw-away coffee cups with the super hip “We are happy to serve you” line of ceramic take-away dishware.
• Perhaps you want Dad to use Father’s Day to just relax. Give him something sustainable and stylish to kick off the lounging with Gaiam’s Organic Cotton Robe. Pick up a copy of the DVD River and Tides. Treehugger raves, “the beauty of nature and the brilliance of art come together in this gorgeous documentary.” Or pick up the latest best-selling memoir at the online bookstore with a soul, Better World Books. Every book purchased from this eco-version of Amazon is shipped carbon neutral (with offsets from Carbonfund) and a percentage of the price goes to promote literacy initiatives.
• Nothing says “its your day” more than the ultimate backyard hammock – relaxation is built right in!
• And here’s something that’s just plain cool. Even bonafide city dads like to stay in touch with their inner outdoorsman. So check out Gaiam’s Survival Kit in a Sardine Can. He’ll be inspired to organize the next family wilderness adventure.

I loved the things being listed for Dad’s big day but considering the economy nowadays, I think Dads will understand if ever their family don’t have material things to give but LOVE. A tight hug with a kiss will surely melt his heart. But yes, for those who can afford, your list is very timely and very practical especially the go-green organic thing. Its awesome.
