Healthy Byte: Creating a Furniture Polish from Scratch

Healthy Child
Monday, June 29, 2009

If you've ditched your conventional polish (furniture polish is highly poisonous if ingested), you can buff your wood with natural oils.

Jennifer Taggart with The Smart Mama makes her furniture polish from scratch. Mix 1/4 cup of organic olive oil, 1/4 cup of vinegar and 20 to 30 drops of essential oil, shake it up and it's ready to use.

Try it out and let us know what you think.

Where can you buy “essential oils”?

You can usually buy them in Health Food Stores.

Lemon Juice and Vegetable Oil.. Mix equal pans of lemon juice and salad oil. Rub into scratches with a soft cloth until scratches disappear…..

Thanks for the post! I found it very informative. I always have a hard time polishing my furniture at home.
