Healthy Byte: Make Your Own Nontoxic Disinfecting Cleaner

Healthy Child
Monday, January 26, 2009

Cleaning with nontoxic ingredients is one of the most important things you can do for your family's health.

And you don't have to be some kind of earth mother (or father) to make your own. Watch how easy it is.

You'll need two cups of water (preferably distilled water), 1 1/2 to 3 teaspoons of liquid castile soap, 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil and a re-purpose spray bottle. Fill the spray bottle with the water, add the castile soap and tea tree oil. Close the bottle, shake it up and it's ready for you to use on any surface in your home.

I think they also now carry Dr. Bronner’s at Target.

Hi Melody,
You can purchase castile soap by Dr. Bronner (http://www.drbronner.com/DBMS/LS.htm).  You can usually find this brand at a local Trader Joes.
Thanks,
Becca
