New Book wins iParenting Media Award

Great news – out of several thousand entrants, Healthy Child Healthy World: Creating a Cleaner, Greener, and Safer Home by Christopher Gavigan has been selected as a winner for the iParenting Media Award for the 2008 Excellent Products Call!

  • I was thrilled to receive this book for evaluation. The book is well thought out, with a good balance of informational statistics and personal essays. The recipes (for paint etc.), the list of products and the recommended books and websites were helpful without being overwhelming.
  • This book provides a lot of information and practical advice on ways to keep your family and home safe and healthy. It also provide a long list of resources that is very helpful if you would like to do further research or purchase some of the green products mentioned in the book. The layout of the book, with the Parentblog sections, the Expert Opinion sections, Healthy Byte sections, etc., make it very easy to read and prevent all the information from becoming too dense and overwhelming.
  • Yes, this book has so much information packed into its 300 pages. Information that would take me years to research myself. I am currently using the cut and carry, the recipes and the recommended websites. I will be trying to get my husband to read the part about lawn care before spring. I know I will use this book for years to come as my children get older and new hazards arise.
  • I did find this book helpful. It provided a lot of useful facts and information that can be used everyday in deciding what products to purchase and the best way to protect your children and family from environmental dangers. It is written in such a way that it is easy to read and understand. I’m sure that I will look to it quite often for information.
