Healthy Child
Monday, February 01, 2010

This year is going to be fun!  We have a lot of new opportunities for getting to know one another better. So keep in touch to stay in the know, meet great people, share your wisdom, and help change the world!

To keep us focused (because parenting tends to make one a bit scatterbrained) we’ll be using our book as a guide. You can call it an extended book club if you’d like. We like to think of it as a support group, play date, force for good...our Health eFamily! We’ll be focusing on one chapter each month, starting with Chapter 1, – teaching, learning, sharing, and inspiring one another to create a cleaner, greener, safer home and world.

February will be all about Doing the Bump: Preparing for Baby. Perfect for pregnant moms, but also for moms past pregnancy (we know you have wisdom and wittiness to share). Get in sync with us by reading through Chapter 1 of the Healthy Child Book!

Here are all the ways you can engage with the Health eFamily this month. (Participate in any of these activities and you’ll be eligible to win great prizes! Participate in all of them for even more opportunities to win!)

Parents Play Date Twitter Party February 4th at 6pm PST

Let’s talk about Doing the Bump! Are you pregnant? Planning on becoming pregnant? Or, have you been pregnant? Join this party to share your stories and learn all about how to protect your unborn child from toxic exposures, have a healthy and balanced pregnancy, and make the best plans for your pregnancy and beyond.

Safer Products Twitter Party on February 11th at 6pm PST

What personal care products are safe during pregnancy? What are the top toxic products to avoid when you’re pregnant? What are the alternatives? Join us to talk about safer products for pregnancy and beyond.

Healthy Home Party Twitter Party February 18th at 6PST

Our Healthy Home Party Kits have been a big success. Moms across the country are hosting parties and educating their family, friends, and neighbors about creating cleaner, greener, safer environments for children. Join this party to learn how to host a party, tweet with others who have, or ask any unanswered questions from a past party you hosted. Since this month we’re focusing on pregnancy, we’ll also be discussing ideas for hosting parties with pregnancy support groups. And, how to broach the subject with pregnant women without overwhelming them.

Healthy Child Chat Twitter Party February 25th at 6PST

Healthy Child Chats are reserved for any breaking news or hot topics on your mind. We’re crossing our fingers that this month we’ll be able to discuss TSCA reform or one of the other federal bills about to be launched that will regulate chemicals and better protect our health.
