Make your own polisher. Mix olive oil and vinegar in a one-to-one ratio and polish with a soft cloth.
Or look for food-grade linseed oil, often called omega-3 or flaxseed oil, rather than the type found in hardware stores to finish furniture.
Linseed oil sold for furniture use often contains dangerous petroleum distillates to speed evaporation.
