  • Reduce hot water use
  • Lower water heater temperature
  • Insulate water heater tank
  • Insulate hot water pipes
  • Install heat trap on water heater tank
  • Install a timer and use off-peak power for electric water heater
  • Install a drain-water heat recovery system

ENERGY SAVING TIPS:
For your Heating,Ventilation,Air Conditioning (HVAC) system:

  • Install a programmable thermostat on new HVAC systems
  • Incorporate more day lighting into your home, using energy efficient windows and skylights, and solar tubes (especially in closets)
  • Keep your AC at a higher temperature
  • Turn off lights not in use
  • Unplug smaller appliances not in use
