Think about the number of products you use that contain fragrances?
Cleansers, deodorizers, bath & body products, air fresheners, laundry products, candles, perfumes, cosmetics and more. These products are made with any of over 3000 synthetic chemicals that are not required to be listed on the ingredient label.
It is important to become aware of how many of these products are combining in your household, and think about eliminating as man as possible. Multiple fragrances, and frequent exposure to them, can trigger asthma, allergies, environmental sensitivity and other respiratory ailments, cause headaches, shortness of breath, weakness and central nervous system depression.
Keep ventilation flowing through your home. Open windows and doors daily to let fresh air in and bad air out. Run exhaust fans frequently.
We recommend you buy “fragrance-free” products, but note, a product labeled "fragrance-free" may still contain fragrance ingredients that don’t smell but actually mask the unpleasant odor of some chemical ingredients.
Freshen rooms naturally… use a box of baking soda to absorb odors in cabinets, cupboards and bathrooms, and clean with white vinegar and water.
Buy fresh flowers, herbs, and essential oils to give off subtle fragrance to a room, and add potted plants like the Boston Fern to naturally remove toxins like formaldehyde.
