Dried Fig and Apricot Balls
Last weekend we had a big bash. One of the things we served was a trio of dips including hummus, caponata and this fabulous Spicy Red Lentil Dal from Cooking Light. Flavored with cumin, turmeric, coriander, coconut milk! I also made these Dried Fig and Apricot Balls. Very yummy and just a bit sweet.

MAKE IT
- Throw everything into the food processor and whiz away!
- Make them into little balls. That's it! They can be made way ahead (up to 2 months they say) - that's why I made them!
CLEAN IT
Look for dried fruits that are sulfite-free. The most common technique used for drying foods is ‘sulfuring.’ In sensitive individuals (particularly asthmatics), ingestion of sulfur dioxide and sulfites in food can cause asthma attacks, skin rashes and upset stomach. Sulfur Dioxide is also a known allergen.
GREEN IT
Support your local hives by buying local honey!
MAKE IT FUN
Kids love pushing the button on the food processor and watch as everything gets smooshed together. You can also have them help you make the balls!
