Servings: Freeze Makes 6 4 oz. pops

Ingredients

  • 5 whole kiwis, peeled and cut into bites
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 4 Tablespoons honey
  • 1 cup purified water

Kiwifruit is very tart if you do not use a ripe one, so it is good to know when they are at their best. November through May is when Kiwifruit is typically in season. It's from New Zealand and has a brown furry skin on it that needs to be peeled off before eating.

MAKE IT

  1. Put cut kiwis into your blender.
  2. Add in the lime juice, honey and water.
  3. Blend all ingredients together into a smooth texture.
  4. Pour mixture into chosen pop molds.
  5. Freeze

CLEAN IT

Even though you don’t eat the peel, wash the kiwi and lime well before you use them to rinse away pathogens and pesticide residue that can end up inside the fruit after you pull the knife through them.

GREEN IT

Since you probably can’t get local kiwi, look for local honey to cut back on your food’s environmental footprint.

MAKE IT FUN

Let the kids push the button on the blender. They can also help scoop out the kiwis. Just cut the kiwi in half and let them scoop out the fruit with a spoon.
