there are stainless steel bottles, sippy cups etc. googling is really easy, you just have to know that plastics are bad and take action.

I want to know good alternatives for packing lunches for my family (at school and at work). Does anyone know of safe storage containers that do not have all the chemicals?

Born Free products are great!

I have changed to glass containers for packing lunches. They have small ones and I hand wash the lids.

We’ve switched our sons bottles and sippy cups to Born Free, we use glass storage containers for lunches and leftovers (I buy them when they go on sale at the grocery store) and we use Sigg water bottles.

For an entertaining and disturbing look at toxic plastics, see The 7 Deadly Plastics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IP-oC-0hOC0

Thanks for the link to The 7 Deadly Plastics, T.G. It’s good to remember the overall life cycle impacts of plastic, although I would like to stress that some are safer than others. Also, while we encourage people to select natural alternatives to plastic, we recognize that’s not always feasible.
In addition, I need to add a simple disclaimer from Healthy Child that we don’t vouch for the accuracy of the statements or sources posted in the comments on our site and that the opinions expressed are those of the authors alone.
Thanks again for sharing this thought-provoking video.
