Kids love to squeeze this oozy, blobbly version of play dough through their fingers. We have a recipe for you to make your own nontoxic play dough.

I have used this recipe for years and have found that if you mix the dry ingredients and then add the wet it is smoother. Also it’s more mixing for little people. In my pre-school class(3’s) we would use an electric fry pan on the table and everybody got a turn stirring and got a lesson in easy and hard!!!

I have used this recipe for 30 years. It was a staple in our home when our children were small. I recently made it for a class and had my son who has celiac (gluten intolerance) mix it and handle it. He had a reaction to it. This is a caution to all parents of children who have celiac- the wheat flour can be a problem. I will experiment to find a safe substitute.

I was unaware that you could make your own play dough, this is great. I have a two year old and a four yeah old that would love this. I can’t wait to try this out with my little ones, I just know that they will have a blast with it. And thanks Anne for the tip I think I will try it that way to make it a little easier on my little ones.

Well I finally was able to make up some of this play dough. I can’t believe how much it was just like the store bought play dough. And my kids just loved helping me mix it all up. Thanks again for the recipe!
Mel.
